Well pumps and manufactured homes
A manufactured home on a well uses the same pump, tank and switch as any other house. The differences are mostly about where things sit and how to reach them.
This is a referral line. When you call, you are connected with an independent local well pump company.
Where to look
The pressure tank and switch may be in a small well house, a shed, or under the home near where the water line enters. Find them before something breaks, so you can read the gauge in a hurry.
Access
If equipment is under the home, keep the access panel clear. Tell the company how to get to it.
Freeze protection
Lines under a home and in small sheds are more exposed to cold. See our winter freeze guide for basic steps.[source]
Records
Your well registration is tied to the parcel.[source] Look it up on the ADWR Well Record Search (opens in a new tab) if you are new to the property.
Skirting and access
If the water line runs under the home, check that skirting is intact and that vents are closed in cold weather if your setup calls for it. Keep a flashlight near the access panel. When the company arrives, they will want a clear path to the tank, the switch and the line. If pets or stored items block the way, move them before the visit. A clear path saves time and keeps the job safer for everyone.
